Cold Wrap Tape

BelsonCorr Cold Wrapping Tap is used to prevent corrosion, such as a field joint coating or pipe coating, and on fittings and flanges on pipelines (oil, gas and water) and in power station and pipeline station construction. The product is ideal for complex pipeline components and designed for corrosion protection, particularly for pipelines and other metal structures.

BelsonCorr Cold Wrapping Petroleum tape in accordance with DIN 30672 and DIN EN 12068 to encase pipelines, pipeline components and metal structures to prevent corrosion.

In essence, cold wrapping tape is a practical and effective solution for preventing corrosion in various applications, particularly where heat application is not feasible.

Here’s a breakdown of its key features and uses:

Key Features:

  • Cold Application:
    • Unlike heat-shrinkable sleeves, cold wrapping tapes can be applied at ambient temperatures, simplifying installation.
    • This makes them suitable for field applications where heating equipment may not be available.
    • Suitable for high operating temperature upto +120°C
    • DIN DVGW approved in accordance with DIN 3067 and EN 12068
  • Corrosion Protection:
    • They form a barrier against moisture, chemicals, and other corrosive agents.
    • This helps to prevent rust and extend the lifespan of the protected structure.
  • Adhesion:
    • They are designed to adhere strongly to metal surfaces, providing a durable and long-lasting protective layer.
  • Materials:
    • Common materials include polyethylene, butyl rubber, and bitumen.
    • These materials offer excellent resistance to weathering and chemical attack.
  • Flexibility:
    • Cold wrapping tapes are often flexible, allowing them to conform to irregular shapes and surfaces, such as pipes, valves, and fittings.

Common Applications:

  • Pipeline Protection:
    • Used to protect underground and aboveground pipelines from corrosion.
    • Especially useful for protecting welds, joints, and other vulnerable areas.
  • Oil and Gas Industry:
    • Widely used in the oil and gas industry for protecting pipelines, storage tanks, and other equipment.
  • Water and Wastewater Industry:
    • Used to protect water and wastewater pipelines from corrosion.
  • General Industrial Use:
    • Can be used to protect various metal structures from corrosion in a wide range of industrial settings.
